Re: Robert Q. Lewis
Thanks for your response, LuckyVassall! It's interesting to hear about his middle initial; I had heard several stories about it's origin, from it being an accidental slip on one of his radio shows that just stuck, to just adding it for giggles and telling everyone it stood for "quizzical."...

Robert Q. Lewis
For a while I have been hooked on 1950's-1960's game shows, specifically panel shows like "What's My Line" and "I've Got A Secret." Seeing the same folks on the panel each episode, I've become really interested in learning more about these people and the other work they do, liste...

Re: Has anyone purchased anything from ShoutFactory?
Oh wow, Amazon is cheaper now! I looked a few weeks ago and their price was higher. Thanks for letting me know! I'll get it from them, as it is a lot more trusted.

Has anyone purchased anything from ShoutFactory?
I have several ShoutFactory DVDs, including countless Mystery Science Theater 3000 sets, but I have never actually ordered from their web site before. I very much want to pre-order the Phil Silvers Show complete collection that they offer on their site, but I am a bit wary about buying it there. The...

I have some to add to the list. How about Walter Brennan and E.E Clive?

Re: Your favorite character actors
Oh, I see now. YOU made the image. For some reason I was thinking it was made by another Arnold Stang fan ( who we needed to wrangle and get in on this thread!) and you found it floating about on the Internet somewhere. :) It funny; this evening I was at a grocery store and saw a magazine (It might ...

Re: Your favorite character actors
That is the most wonderful post, norfious! I love Arnold Stang and I'd never heard that quote by him before. Superb! I'm glad you shared your personal feelings of empathy. That is really the best part of all. Was PEOPLE magazine around in 1954? I don't think so, but look what I found.... http://i31...

Re: Your favorite character actors
I have probably posted here in the past, as I really like character actors. I've also probably already posted a large list of my favorites, but I have two new ones for whom I have recently developed a lot of respect. Phil Silvers - Phil Silvers never ceases to amaze me with his quick wit and comedic...

Re: October Schedule 2014
(From out of nowhere I appear again!) I always love Octobers on TCM, since I love the old, hokey horror films. I have always wanted to see "The Tingler," and I am happy to see it being shown on Halloween this year! Unfortunately, I will be unable to watch it yet again. :\ I am very happy t...

Thank you for the suggestions, everyone!
And I somehow totally forgot about that other thread, ChiO. Thanks for bringing it up.

Want to Introduce Someone to Classic Film. Suggestions?
So I have a friend who really likes 1980's sci-fi and adventure movies. He has shown a great interest in watching more classic movies, after hearing me talk about them. Since I haven't seen too many 80's movies, and he hasn't seen many classic films, we decided to do a "movie swap" and giv...

Re: The Warner Archive
I am so glad that a lot of these titles are coming to DVD! The only downside is the fact that they are made-to-order DVD-Rs, instead of real pressed DVDs. Unfortunately, I've heard a lot of negative reviews of them, and horror stories about them not even running correctly or being out of sync with t...

Hmm, your movie description has me stumped for now. I'll see who else can answer it!
