Great thing about the 1936 SHOW BOAT for me is the use of so many of the performers who created the roles in the original Broadway production - Paul Robeson, Helen Morgan,Charles Winninger,Queenie White. Sad news. I was lucky enough to see Bob in person at the National Theatre in London in GUYS AND DOLLS in the 1980s. He was wonderful as Nathan Detroit.
