Re: Robert Osborne Has Died - R.I.P.

Living in Chicago and on social security at that, I never had the opportunity to meet Robert, but when I heard the news the other day, you would have thought he was a relative from the way I cried and carried on. I knew he was ill, but always hoped he would pull through. Because of another blood pro...

Silverado . . . AGAIN

I watched this one again Saturday on the "MOVIES" channel on my crummy Comcast minimalist TV offering and as much as I love the Duke, and Randy Scott, I have to admit that I seriously think this is one of best Western movies ever made. It is full of action, comedy, romance, family love, a...

Return of a Pain in the neck

I've been away for so long that I'm not sure who is still contributing to this very much missed site. I was a very, very sick lady starting in March of 2016 and spent several months in various hospitals and re-habs. Just the name re-hab sounds funny to me, because re-hab always meant re-hab for drug...

POLITICAL CORRECTION

. At first I was surprised to hear about the possibility of many actors not attending the Oscar program because of the failure to offer more black and Indian actors the starring roles usually given to caucasian actors. I thought Why are they upset when just a few years ago so many of the leading Os...

Re: Sherlock on PBS

Cumberbach is superb because he radiates all of the weird idiosyncrasies that Sherlock was supposed to have exhibited. Sometimes he is even frightening to watch, and I often catch my breath at close-ups. This is definitely a keeper and hope more and more folks can join in to watch.

Re: Someone's having a birthday!

Lynn, Happy Belated birthday! Thanks to all of you who remembered me on my day. I haven't been too "in the pink" lately, which is why I haven't been on. I complain enough as it is without boring all of you with my aches and pains, but I'm a little better off now. I hope all of you had won...

Re: Gone With or Without fanfare

Now...that's a beautiful redhead!!! You can crow about your Rita's, Agnes', Ann Margret's and all the rest, but none of them compare to the glorious Irish beauty we lost in Maureen O'Hara. I've never stopped thinking how wonderful she would have been as Scarlett. But I must offer a truly sad farewe...

Re: Let's talk about Jesse Stone

Just like Sean Connery, will ever be 007 to me, and Tom Selleck will ever be Thomas Magnum, I don't believe there is another who could take over the role as effectively as Tom handles it. As far as I'm concerned, none of the followers ever achieved that twinkle that made 007 for Connery. If Pierce ...

Re: CANDIDS II

Hey mongoII: I have to admit I haven't been checking out this thread very much lately but this site is so lonely that I tend to stay away. I don't know about you but it bugs me to post things and never have anyone respond. I look at some of the days on these threads are they go all the way back to 2...

Re: LONGMIRE

I've seen a few shows that were made for and by Netflix that are shown on HBO and Showtime and some of the others, so I guess I'll wait for a while and see what happens, unless Social Security gives us a cost of living raise this year. Anyway, nobody is around to discuss the show with now-a-days. No...

Combining yesterday and today

. I'm probably talking off the top of my head here but I saw a Murder She Wrote episode, the other day which I had never seen before. Now that I have the Hallmark Channel again, I find my self watching it for a couple of shows that I never got to see before since the Western channel is in 100% rerun...

Re: Returning shows and new shows

. Movieman: I was beginning to think I'm the only one who is still reading this site. So many people have disappeared - Why is that, do you know? Anyway, where are you watching Ripper Street ? I was watching it about 18 months ago on one of the PBS channels, but it went away after a few weeks and ha...

THE ZOO AND EXTANT

Is anyone else watching these two shows? The season is over for now and although I was surprised to see Hallee Barrie on a TV serial, she sure has done a splendid job of it. I love the little kid who plays Ethan too. I only wish Goran Visnjic didn't die in every part he gets. He does a great job, m...

Re: PBS

Chris, I hope you and your bride have gotten to Phryne by now. The writers are doing a great job of keeping the romance between her and Jack titillating. Just a little look or movement now and then just as the picture is engulfed by that little black circle. On the side, I dislike facial hair on men...
