LOL!

I love the way Orson references him through Akim's character in TOUCH OF EVIL.

Re: Bad Movies You Love

Oy, THE SANDPIPER, lol. "We made love in motels, God help me!" I don't think ponchos look too flattering on Liz, though. Much prefer her in formal wear -- the LBD from BUTTERFIELD 8, and the CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF white number. Yep, you probably can't get much higher with the risibility fac...

Re: Bad Movies You Love

I was in stitches throughout TWIAT, Jackie, never more so than when Kirk takes Cyd for the ride of her life, lol. The badness is positively transcendental in that movie, considering the talent involved. THE SANDPIPER is another delicious fiasco. But I do think GOODBYE, CHARLIE is somewhat underrated.

"Don Juan", the beautiful white horse, out-acted everyone, and had the most class.

Poor Pepe, thinking he was going to get the pretty blonde North American girly-girl.

Re: Bad Movies You Love

Thanks so much, kingrat! Hey, do you notice how similar the Pepe puppet looks to Darby Jones in I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE? !http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_SPYL8UC1UCY/TJ9dV_L_5TI/AAAAAAAAEB4/6Ao_5T1CuUo/s400/I+Walked+with+a+Zombie+%281943%29.jpg! moira, you know me inside and out, LOL. Re: Bad Movies You Love

Anyone see the train wreck called PEPE, with the emasculation of popular Mexican comedian Cantinflas? "Pepe, with his burro by his side -- he's no bigger than a tur-keee -- but his smile is two feet wide!" Yes, laugh, clown, laugh, but inside we know your guts are being torn to shreds beca...

Re: The May 2013 TCM Schedule

Love the dancing Stan and Ollie, SueSue! You were so lucky -- Mexico must have been so "exotically" romantic back in the day. The boys were especially popular in that country. There were several nifty little mid to late '40's movies, mainly but not exclusively mysteries and comedies, set i...

I missed THE STRANGLER on TCM, but found it complete on YouTube -- yay! I love Victor Buono. He's heir apparent to the great Laird Cregar.

Re: The April 2013 TCM Schedule

Bronxgirl, Moira, you guys are making me laugh. Whenever I see Tommy Noonan, "Bowling for Dollars" is going to light up in my mind. I actually like a lot of American movies from the 1950s, but it was not a good decade for American comedy, and the BLACK WIDOW -style "What are we going...

Re: The April 2013 TCM Schedule

Oh that's right, Peter Marshall! I forgot about him. (I wonder why, lol?) I've always wondered if a certain part of John Ireland's anatomy was donated to a science museum after his death. I liked Joanne married to t.v. hubby Mark Miller, in GUESTWARD HO. Just revisited NO DOWN PAYMENT on YouTube. Sh...
