Thanks, Sandy (via Lynn) and feaito, for the suggestions. I love James Kirkwood and Myrna Loy. Great avatar, feaito! Fabulous photo of Myrna. I just started a novel-"The Secret Life Of Bees" by Sue Monk Kidd. I love Southern Gothic. Anxious to read "Heyday" by Kurt Anderson. Anyo...

Pardon my French...
Bonjour, Rusty I think Jeunet's sense of style is influential. Style is just as important as subject matter, IMHO. He did get his start in TV commericals and animation-a coupla venues European filmmakers excel at, n'est-ce pas? Check out "Delicatessen" and "Alien: Resurrection." ...

Raining cats and...dogs?
I love the story of Curtiz asking a prop man for a "poodle" to appear in a scene in "Casablanca." The prop man searched for a poodle-while the entire crew waited. He found one and presented it to Curtiz, who screamed, "A poodle! A poodle of water!."

Out with the old?
The TCM boards do have a different "feel" and it is a little depressing. I've been a member for a year...it was comforting to see so many long term members. Internet communities are usually pretty fickle and the novelty soon wears off...especially when they are "spammed" to the p...

"The Little Wizard"
I don't think so. I wish he'd had more episodes! His episodes were the best ones. BTW, his middle name was Quixote. (I read that on IMDb.)

Medium Cool
Looking forward to "Bound For Glory" this sunday on TCM-with the cinematography of Haskell Wexler. He won an Oscar for it. He also did "The Best Man," "In The Heat Of The Night," "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" and "Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?"...

James T. West and Artemus Gordon
My family never missed "Bonanza" and "Gunsmoke." I don't have the Western channel, but TV Land has both those shows. I wish they had "The Big Valley" and "The Wild Wild West-"an exciting and strange sci fi/spy/western. It had a lot of great guest stars...Agnes...
