My Answer

No I just generally call the American Movies 'films'. Here in Australia most of the American films are the only films we have here besides our own countrys productions and Foreign Film Festivals from France, Germany, China, Mexico, Spain and England.

Only Classic Movie Buff

I seem to be the only Classic Movie Buff in my family though if it wasn't for my dear mum and sister who introduced me to them, I would'nt be here. Classic Movies is really something you have to adore from a young age it's with you your entire life.

Desert Island Discs

My Eight Records would be: 1. Pennies From Heaven - Billie Holiday, this song is so wonderful and a big favourite of mine which I could not live without of. 2. Livin' in the Sunlight, Lovin' in the Moonlight - Bernie Cummins, this song is the best and just reminds me of a fun life. 3. It don't mean ...

Follow the Fleet

I think Follow the Fleet is a great film of the two, when the both of them perform "I'm Putting all my eggs in one Basket" it's really emotional and beautifully iconic.

Natascha Rambova

Yes I have always like Natacha's designs, they were very Art Deco. I am also a big silent film fan and have too also watched the Rudolph Valentino version but I prefer the 1936 version simply of the dialogue and more portrayal of the characters.

The Night of the Hunter

I think The Night of the Hunter is Robert's best. I just love that creepy song "Leaning.....something". I especially love the part when at the end the lady threatens to shoot and he just gets up from the floor, makes a face and just starts howling. No scary film nowadays can match this.

Hey Mel

Hey mel thanks for the welcome, I think Frances Langford was a great singer, I think she was the only singer who could really portray what Broadway was all about in it's true sense. She was pretty and very charming, just recently I found a site called Old Time Radio that has uploaded radio shows of ...

Re: musicals

Eleanor. From your posts, I get the idea that you kinda like Eleanor Powell. I understand. I feel that way about Jessie Matthews. She was a dancer, too. Kidding aside, Powell was very good. She must have worked hard, like Astaire to achieve what she did. There were so many. I see a lot of shorts wi...

Rudolph Valentino

I'd have to say next to Robert Taylor, Rudolph is as handsome as ever. And to think that american men were jealous of him!!!!!!

Camille

Has anyone seen the version of Camille with Robert Taylor and Greta Garbo. I really think the two actors look great together. Between them there's real chemistry and love.
