CinemaInternational wrote: April 21st, 2024, 1:49 pm It's just a plot point, but no, it's not Heartbreakers (although I like that film). This is from a while earlier.

Next clue:

A man and a woman both eat a piece of paper to avoid detection.

CI, I think we need another clue.

Re: Coming up on TCM...

Anyone catch the Jennifer Jones/Joseph Cotton double feature on Sun. night? Neither of those films are shown on TCM very much. I tuned in during the middle of Portrait of Jennie (not realizing it was on). I love Love Letters, but it ran too late, so I recorded it to watch this wknd. I love the scor...

I think Aumont was with his mistress: Oh yeah, MAHOGANY. You've got to love a movie that features Tony Perkins and Jean-Pierre Aumont. or this unforgettable pose...... https://media.tenor.com/CYXdi_GWi7AAAAAC/diana-ross-mahogany.gif Oh, CI, that's so wrong . . . . . . but it's so right.

Re: I Just Watched...

I have a pretty complicated and nit picky PERRY MASON QUESTION and it is entirely possible that no one will have the answer for it, but: If you go to the IMDb top 10 highest rated episodes FOR PERRY MASON and then you go and you look up THE SERIES on FREEVEE or AMAZON or PARAMOUNT PLUS- almost HALF...

Re: Theater

Late 1970's Los Angeles, I saw Ron Moody backstage in his underwear at a production of OLIVER. He wasn't very friendly. Bronxgirl, this is probably my favorite SSO post this week! I literally laughed out loud when I read it. "Reviewing The Situation" indeed . . . This reminds me of a pers...

Re: Coming up on TCM...

Paul Thomas Anderson has chosen two fun ones for his Two For One movies tonight (April 20).

THE BAD NEWS BEARS (1976)
BUGSY MALONE (1976)

I own a copy of BUGSY MALONE, but I'll watch Paul Thomas Anderson's comments about the movie if it's on Watch TCM

Lucrecia Martel’s LA CIÉNAGA is airing again as part of TCM Imports. I know when it aired a few years ago some posters at the old TCM message boards commented that they found the movie boring. Not me! As soon I finished watching, I watched it again ---- which something I hardly ever do with an entir...

Yeah, I'm with you on the hamburger thing.

But I would have to also go with Maxwell Caulfield for the win!

He had a lovely nude scene in Entertaining Mr. Sloane, which I saw many years ago at the Cherry Lane Theatre. https://www.chisholm-poster.com/large/CL70851.jpg Maxwell Caufield must have enjoyed removing his clothes. On the DVD set for Dynasty II: The Colbys, he admitted in an interview (filmed in ...

Which is a shame, because The Day of the Locust is one of the best films about Hollywood, and Karen Black gave an excellent performance. Among many other virtues, the film is noteworthy for Donald Sutherland's best performance. I love THE DAY OF THE LOCUST. I'm a big fan of John Schlesinger's movie...
