Schedule for Sunday evening May 26 (ET): 8:00 PM The Memphis Belle: A Story of a Flying Fortress (1944) (40 min) - William Wyler's original documentary about the 8th Air Force...

Heebie Jeebies:The last TCM aired A HATFUL OF RAIN it was a pan-and-scan version.
Fox Movie Channel:
Let's hope TCM will add it to the schedule and show a nice version in July.

Re: July 2024 Schedule Posted, Eva Marie Saint is SOTM
They have a lot of TBA on the Eva Marie Saint days, does that mean they don't know which films they will show yet? I hope one of them is A Hatful Of Rain (1957) When TCM first posts their schedule, they tend to not list the films they are leasing from other studios, so these become the TBA titles. ...

Re: The Falcons on Saturday mornings
In the July schedule, TCM has listed #12 The Falcon's Alibi on the 6th, and #13 The Falcon's Adventure on the 13th, which completes the Saturday Matinee series. (There are some other mystery films scheduled for Saturdays afterwards.)

Re: Noir Alley
This weekend's Noir Alley selection is Bad for Each Other (1953), starring Charlton Heston, Lizabeth Scott, and Dianne Foster. As part of TCM's Memorial Day Weekend Marathon theme, the film has Charlton Heston playing an Army colonel and doctor who returns home to Pennsylvania on leave after serving...

Re: WHAT HAPPENED TO 40 GUNS???
That is what I thought they were referring to - WatchTCM currently has the movie available to watch. Some of the providers also have an 'on demand' area where films from TCM are posted.

Re: WHAT HAPPENED TO 40 GUNS???
Not always. Just depends on their contract. A typical contract allows for X number of airings within a time period. The streaming rights would be a separate part of the contract. I agree, but I think the question was if they could show a movie an 'extra' time to make up for the failure. If they had...

Re: WHAT HAPPENED TO 40 GUNS???
The same thing happened with Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid - after the failed broadcast it was later posted to WatchTCM along with the introduction and wrap-up. I would imagine that TCM has to prepare the video for streaming and it may be a separate production path. It is possible that this path worked ...

Re: WHAT HAPPENED TO 40 GUNS???
As cinemainternational points out, the recent movie issues on TCM were very similar ( Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid and Forty Guns ) - in both cases the correct introduction was shown, followed by a period of a dark screen, followed by a replacement movie and other shorts etc. to fill the allotted time....

Re: Noir Alley
I looked at Lauren Bacall's autobiography By Myself and Then Some , and she does confirm her wedding date as May 21, 1945. Following her wedding in Ohio, Bogart and Bacall returned to California, and shortly thereafter Bacall began working on the film Confidential Agent which was released in Novembe...

Re: Noir Alley
I heard Eddie say in the intro to DARK PASSAGE that Bogart and Bacall were married in 1947 when the year was actually 1945. I hope this does not sound like nitpicking. It really annoys me that many of these hosts naively rely on the TCM research department to get their facts correct. It's just slop...
