Re: BREE DANIELS: SCORPIO RISING?

Lordy, is Klute responsible for all the girls being named Bree? I grew up in a completely Bree-less world. Jane Fonda's shag haircut also set a trend. Yea, I just googled Bree Daniels and found out she is an American porn star. Yeah, and so did I just now. I then hit "Images" to see what ...

Re: Which director had the most "greatest performances" of an actor

Wyler was also my choice. I would add two other Bette Davis films, Jezebel (Davis won) and The Letter (Davis was nomninated), as well as The Best Years of Our Lives (my favorite Myrna Loy dramatic performance) , and Ben Hur (my favorite Heston performance). Yep, Wyler. And speaking of TBYOOL here, ...

Re: Screen Presence

How about the following two from Hollywood's more recent past. Neither of whom I would consider as being "handsome" in the classical sense, but who still seem to dominate almost every scene that they're in by use of this thing called "Screen Presence". First, a two-time Oscar win...

Re: Vietnam War essentially ignored - Again!

I grow tired of seeing Dargo's favorite film every chance TCM can show it. "The Best Years of Our Lives" plays at least 6 times a year. I'm not a fan of war movies and have to agree, TCM loves to show older movies. Memorial Day is the beginning of Summer. Play Summertime movies. Mix it up...

Re: Vietnam War essentially ignored - Again!

If they showed Vietnam movies there would be so many asking why they’re showing newer movies. There is no pleasing people. True, however I have noticed TCM showing a lot of post-studio era films of late, and not that I think there's any problem with that. And now for one more comment about that sor...
