Re: The Warner Archive

Six titles are RKO Hepburns, that seems a bit much for one month. A wider variety of titles each month with little in common would seem to pull in bigger sales. And frankly I think the Hepburn titles could sell in a commercially released set fairly well.

Re: No Time for Love (1943)

I loved this movie since I first saw it on AMC a decade ago. It's one of Claudette's most underrated films.

Re: Rare Anita Page Interview from 1993.

Actually, it's a cable access show from Los Angeles but I agree it's a terrific interview.

Re: July Schedule is Up

The big news of the month for many movie buffs hasn't really been mentioned yet - the July 10th airing of 1932's THREE WISE GIRLS starring Jean Harlow, Mae Clarke, and Marie Prevost. This is one of the most elusive Harlow fans and has never been aired on any cable channel before I believe. It may no...

I alas no longer have access to TCM so could please list everyone who is remembered in it. Possibly Beverly Garland is not included because her film work was almost all "B" and perhaps never at MGM or WB? I couldn't imagine TCM possibly overlooking Anita Page, now that would have been an o...

I saw THE WILD HEART twice during the early 80's on a local station but never since. I really liked it. What I remember is it's a vaguely MADAME BOVARY/ANNA KARENINA romantic tragedy with Jennifer gorgeous as all get out in "peasant" clothes (which of course are extremely attractive) and s...

I'm sure the OP was referring to the CBS CHILDREN'S FILM FESTIVAL which ran in the early 1970's on CBS and was hosted by Kukla, Fran, and Ollie. That's the first I saw of them, too!! From what I understand, this was the first time Fran Allison and Burr Tillstrom were reunited in several years. They ...

My curiosity got the best of me and I checked out what was released on VHS on Amazon, wow, I am impressed, 18 of her 21 films. I've listed them in order of their lowest prices at the moment (almost certainly used copies and probably "ex-rentals" for most) (Those marked * are in the Durbin ...

Most of her films didn't make it onto VHS, either. Actually, Universal released quite a number of Deanna's films on VHS in the 1990's, including some rather obscure ones even for her movies, which as many have noted have not aired very frequently on television. Keep in mind though this is the "...

Last night I watched again the wildly underrated True Confession starring Carole Lombard, Fred MacMurray, John Barrymore, and Una Merkel. I think it's in the "five best" films for each of them!!

Tonight I probably will watch Dangerous Curves with Clara Bow for the first time.

I love the Jayne Mansfield Tashlins but I don't care much for his work with Jerry Lewis or Doris Day. SON OF PALEFACE with Bob Hope and Jane Russell is great.

I disagree about Wilder for ROCK HUNTER - I think Tashlin was perfect for this, Wilder would have been too venomous for this light satire.
