Re: Someone's having a birthday!

I've missed several birthdays here recently and am truly sorry. Not getting here that often, but I hope you all had a wonderful one. And since I'm here, Happy Birthday, Larry. Hope it was the best! And before I forget, a very Happy Valentines Day Birthday to Wendy. Hope it's a special one for you!

Re: Robert Q. Lewis

The only movie I remember Robert Q. Lewis doing was An Affair To Remember with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. He played himself doing a television interview with Cary and his fiancé.

Re: OUR FAVORITE TRAMP

I'd have to go with Gloria Grahame as Violet Biggs in It's a Wonderful Life and as Ado Annie in Oklahoma.

Re: WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?

Went to our local "atmosphere" theater this past Sunday with my daughter to watch Poltergeist. Planning on going this next weekend to see Psycho and the following weekend to see Ghostbusters. Hoping they show some of the older Christmas movies this December like they did last year, Somethi...

Noting one good and one bad from the same film - Dr. Noah Pretorias (Cary Grant) and Prof. Rodney Elwell (Hume Cronyn) in People Will Talk.

Re: Someone's having a birthday!

Happy Birthday, Moira! I was asking Nando about the age thing on Facebook and neither one of us believed you were that old. Not that that's a bad thing, mind you. We'd respect you even if you were only 99! :D

Re: Gone With or Without fanfare

I've got a 45 record by The Old Philosopher made for Christmas that Mom and Dad bought for me and my siblings around 1957 when we got a new record player for Christmas. We loved that disc! I brought it to our Christmas Eve family celebration a few years ago and everyone got a chance to revisit our c...

Reminds me a little of Rosalind Russell circa His Girl Friday.

Re: WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?

Yesterday I used my new Blu-ray player to watch Larry Vecchio get his stubborn ass out of Egypt. The quality was very good, but this version was done in 16:9. My older DVD was letterboxed widescreen and looks more like seeing it at the movies.

Re: Someone's having a birthday!

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Joe and Moira. My daughter and son-in-law bought us a Blu-ray player for an anniversary gift, so our movie watching experiences should be even better. Now we need to replace some of our favorite classic movie DVDs with Blu-ray.
