Re: A moment of silence, please

Considered the greatest mime of the 20th century, Marcel Marceau (née Marcel Mangel) passed away yesterday at age 84. During World War II he escaped deportation to a Nazi concentration camp, but he lost his father to Auschwitz. Because he spoke English, he was recruited to be a liaison officer with...

I dislike this movie vehemently. It's way too slow, has too many "there's nothing much going on here" scenes, and the dialogue sucks. I borrowed it from my library and I fell asleep halfway through it on my first viewing. I had to watch the movie a second time just to finish it!

I'll stick to one aspect of the original post and that's violence having an affect on the story and the audience. Personally, I don't mnd seeing a mindless actioneer sometimes. It all depends on my mood. That being said, we see violence on the screen in a lot of dramatic movies just for the sake of ...

I just watched THE KILLER THAT STALKED NEW YORK. What a neat and tight noir. Evelyn Keyes was fantastic as Sheila Bennet, the woman who was unkowningly spreading smallpox throughout New York. The whole subplot of her being part of diamond smuggling made the film even more intriguing as you had healt...

It's a good thing I don't have the NOW PLAYING guide. I think i'd be PO'ed as i'd be looking forward to all the Andy Hardy movies. That's not to say that what's scheduled sucks because they don't but still.....

Thank goodness for using the online schedule as referral :)

I saw Zodiac a few nights ago. Really liked it. Have followed the case since I was a teenager. Thought they did a great job of shooting in the City by the Bay. Robert Downey, Jr (despite all his problems is a great actor). I saw this movie in the theatres and loved it. Unfortunately, it seems like ...

I love this movie and the sorta sequel as mentioned before is quite good as well tho the characters are a bit different. I kinda like Robards' interpretation of Doc Holliday better then Douglas'.

I've seen many of those Eddie G movies that Mark listed and I have to say I love every single one of them. Whenever I find a movie on the schedule with Eddie G in it I immediately gravitate to it. The only movie he was in that I don't care for is Soylent Green which I believe was his last movie.

Well I recently got a FTA dish (yeah kinda shady I know but oh well) The model I have doesn't have DVR capability tho there's a receiver that does. I'm gonna give the current dish/receiver set up a few months to see if it works out well and see if I can upgrade. My movie watching might be curbed as ...

I recently just saw The Set-Up and it's now on my list of best boxing movies despite the rather selfish comment by the wife at the very end of the movie.

I saw what I think may have been one of the best roles Cagney ever took in City For Conquest . This movie had a LOT going on. I liked the semi narration with the "old-timer" it reminded me kinda of Burl Ives in the old Rudolph christmas special. The movie was more then just a story of a yo...

I liked the movie too as well but I found the comedy to be more like KOMEDY! If you get my drift. I found the whole "look at those drunk fools LOL!" stuff to be a bit much. The drama is what really hooked me into the movie and I didn't know that Eddie G. and Raft really didn't like each ot...

I'm having a bout of insomnia so i'm still awake after watching Her Twelve Men, Bright Road and Grand Old Girl The first film was "eh" tho I did enjoy seeing Greer Garson and her interaction with all the boys that she was teaching, especially the boy who's parents neglected him. There was ...

My only exposure to Mr. Benny was his 50s TV show and his radio show. I find the radio show very funny at times. There's a site that I know of that has like over a thousand episodes of his radio show. I tried to access it just now but it seems to be gone. I hope it hasn't been taken down. Anyways Be...
