Well you could base it on whatever you want. I'll agree that Jolson didn't seem to translate too well to film. The Jazz Singer is supposed to come on next month (I think) so i'm looking forward to that immensely.

Just to finish up on the theatre talk:

I always go for the 7 or 7:30 PM showing. Never earlier and never later and always on a tuesday. Sometimes it'll be closer to the weekend but Tuesdays is discount night.

Until the TCM boards move in the 21st century (with a board software similar to this) I won't be participating much there. It does seem like the admins don't give a damn about what goes on. You know it's the same thing with Cartoon Network. There's a big site (I forget the name) with tons of forums ...

I forgot to mention Fat City (1972) It's a very gritty boxing movie and it's probably the best performance Stacey Keach ever did on film.

I loved Margaret O'Brien as a child actress so it'll be interesting to see her in her tween years. The story doesn't sound appealing from the description on my cable box but i'll give it a shot.
