Re: I Just Watched...

Topsy-turvy PM screen tests. Burr as Burger. William Hopper as Mason. And Burr as Mason... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8P8Wf8YeBA OH WOW, thanks! initial thoughts: 1. they write "BUGER" in for "BURGER" twice. It was hilarious both times. 2. RAYMOND BURR never once OPENED HI...

Especially in the later seasons when he had put on quit a few pounds. His weight really fluctuated during the series. I'd bet you anything RAYMOND BURR was depressed. If you only know hIM from PERRY MASON, it's WILD to come across some of his film roles in the 40's and 50's where he really got to D...

Yes. Never liked Hazel, even as a kid! Perry needed that extra power to move him along.

Re: May 2024 Schedule Posted, Asian Stars featured

I'm getting tired of these group SOTMs or "trying to right past wrongs" SOTMs by focusing on a minority SOTM who was never really a star. There are so many stars waiting for a month that have NEVER been chosen and TCM seems to have no interest in showcasing them.

Re: Coming up on TCM...

Song of Norway was Florence Henderson's shot at being the new Julie Andrews. She and the film failed miserably.

Re: I Just Watched...

Speaking of original Perry Mason TV series, I am always highly interested in the automobiles. Perry would go from a Ford to a Cadillac to a Lincoln, etc. Paul usually drove the best cars - mostly Thunderbirds. Perry paid him well. In the early episodes, Perry drives what looks like a standard Ford,...

Re: I Just Watched...

10 gallons to the mile!!! Yeah, I noticed Highway Patrol and Hazel...... Of course Perry could afford it. Never much of a Hazel fan. I still like LITB. Another show that's been in that time slot for a pretty long time. They just finished the last season and are starting over again with the first on...

Re: 2024 TCM Film Festival

The Egyptian was all one space. It just reopened a few months ago after being closed for a year (or maybe longer) for a renovation. The theater is gorgeous. We saw two movies there during the festival. Fantastic. Thought it was terrible they carved it up into bits some years ago. It's not back to i...
