Re: I Just Watched...

I actually rewatched DEATH BECOMES HER for the first time in YEARS a couple weeks ago and didn't post a review because I didn't want to open a rabbit hole (it's a film i can talk about A LOT), but really- for any of you fans of the movie, go to YOUTUBE and type in DEATH BECOMES HER DELETED SCENES o...

Re: AFI's 25 GREATEST MOVIE MUSICALS OF ALL TIME

NO FUNNY FACE????? EPIC FAIL. And where's the 25th one??? I'd omit 14 and 20 from that list...I've never seen Beauty and the Beast so can't comment on that one, but the score isn't that great (except for the title tune). I'd also omit 25 (was hidden until you clicked on it).

Re: Noir Alley

I won't be watching! :D I'm not sure when it starts, I didn't catch that part. Probably next month. I doubt I will be either. The original series was okay, but a little of Kenda goes a long way. I guess he figures he might as well make hay while the sun shines. I watched a few of his shows, but his...

Re: I Just Watched...

also, I hate to speculate, but FANTASTIC AS SHE IS, I get the sense the role came very naturally to LANSBURY and she had A BLAST doing it- the 1970s were kind of the beginning of the whole "you need to suffer and be miserable and lose or gain 60 pounds in order to get a nomination" trend ...

Re: I Just Watched...

Yes, I had a great-aunt named Gertrude, an aunt named Ethel. My parents were introduced by a woman named Edna. When I was looking up Max Showalter, his parents were Ira and Elma Showalter. We have to remember that Gertrude and Ethel were the Taylor and Madison of their day. Or that Taylor and Madis...

"What if twenty or thirty million women started rationing lipstick?" "But I can't return my 127 tubes of rouge! The Health Department won't let me!" "But do we want to keep hoarding?" "Let's pool our resources -- that's democracy!" Uh-oh, lol. I remember Ging...

Re: I Just Watched...

Edna is another name that should stay in the past. (And I had an aunt named that as well!) As should Eunice and Bertha and Ethel and Alma and Velma (although we once had a neighbor, now passed on, named Velma and she was a wonderful neighbor) AGREED!! Alma and Velma aren't quite as bad as the other...

Re: Coming up on TCM...

Even if you had remembered you would not have been able to see it. There was a glitch in the video on TCM that evening so it was replaced with another showing of Carnival Story . TCM has put Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid on WatchTCM as a make-good, but as I recall you do not have the service. :( HAHA! ...
