Re: Robert O taking a break

Oh dear. I hope he's okay. I hate vague news articles (and you know how I worry). It'd be swell if he'd come to the Oasis and hang out with us. I'd be his Oasis houseboy and bring him cool drinks and change the DVDs in the Oasis Home Entertainment system.

Re: *CANDIDS*

Thanks, MR! It seems to me I've seen his work before, maybe in an opening credit sequence? Quite possibly. He did a lot of opening title designs, including "Presenting Lily Mars", "Her Cardboard Lover"and many others. He also did illustrations of a film you're probably very fami...

A fine artist whose appreciation seems to be seeing a resurgence over the past few yea...

First up, I LOVE TROUBLE (1948). I'm never purported to be a fan of Franchot Tone , but with a cast including Janet Blair , Cinemaven fave Janis Carter , Glenda "Torchy Blane" Farrell , Tom Powers , Eduardo "Waldo" Ciannelli , Raymond Burr , and John "If I Were Odder Lookin...

Re: 2011 TCM Festival

Someone in the audience asked about the possibility of having the Hollywood series brought out on DVD. As some of you know, the issue is getting permissions again for the film clips because the contracts didn't include the right of reproduction in future media. Mr. Brownlow and Scott McGee looked a...
