Death Takes a Holiday is one of my favorites. He's also good fun in The Sign of the Cross (not as much fun as the over the top Charles Laughton and Claudette Colbert). Also love him in A Star is Born. BYOOL is a great film, across the board, and March is wonderful. I can see how some might find Fred...

This is actually Louella Parsons, with Valentino at Marion Davies' Ocean House in Santa Monica. Summer, 1925.

Crime Without Passion (1934)

Upon learning of the new bio of Claude Rains, it got me thinking about one of my favorite films, the 1934 Crime Without Passion. Anyone know if this is on the books to make it onto DVD? It should be, IMO.

I've not seen it in years and I would absolutely love to.

Thanks

Hello Matt

Let me first say, your book on Joan is one of the best bios I have read in years. It is SO well written and such a good read, it is a real keeper!

I don't really have any questions for you, but I do hope the sales are going well. You book seriously deserves some awards!

Jeanine Basinger devotes a chapter to Deanna in her new book The Star Machine. BTW, while I do not always agree with Basinger's opinions, I think it's a fine and very readable book.

I was unhappy with the film when I saw it upon release. Of course, I was foolish to expect anything other than a haphazard film based on Hollywood Babylon. Kirsten Dunst would have done well to actually watch a few of Marion Davies films to see what she was capable of. If Hearst really were as Edwar...

You're kidding? I saw something about it on Amazon and I thought it read like it was a "new" book. I knew I smelled trash. I wonder if he's the same clown who has one coming out on Gable which I hope sells not one copy , since it's filled with innacurracies and scurilous imputations. I wi...
