Re: To Kill A Mockingbird
I just think that the title "the greatest hero in American film" is too much. And also, why did his kids call him by his name and not just say dad? Talk about formal family relations, lol.

Re: Gone With or Without fanfare
It appears that Mike Road died back in 14 April 2013. No obituary is found, since he was a very private person (according to an IMDb user who knew him). He was born on 18 March 1918, so his final age was 95. So who was he? Well, I'll just paste the info from Wikipedia: Mike Road was a voice actor an...

Re: To Kill A Mockingbird
I got a question: Did Atticus get paid for taking on the case of Tom Robinson? If so, then is he really that heroic? Lawyers are supposed to defend people that have been accused of crimes. In what way did he do something remarkable? Sure, he was pressured by the whole town not to defend Tom, but tha...

Re: Gone With or Without fanfare
Nick, thank you for posting these obituaries. The story of Maxine Stuart certainly gives us a window into the life of an aspiring actress of the time. Thanks. I'm working on a project that will try to bring more attention to all living actors/actresses that weren't super famous. I found out about t...

Re: The Major and The Minor
I saw this movie about a year ago and I gotta say I have some mixed feelings concerning the ending. Basically, Milland thought that Rogers was 12 years old throughout most of the film. To him, she was a child. So when he finds out that she's actually an adult, he goes off to marry her? Shouldn't it ...

Re: Inviting guest stars?
I think I can answer that question Nick. But, first you better check with the Staff (Moira, Lzcutter, Movieman1957, Kingrat, and Sue Sue) first and foremost and they will help you guide you in that process ... I am pretty sure of that and they would be more than happy for suggestions ... Good Call ...

I watched National Velvet for about 5 minutes until I found out that it was a horse film You'll want to avoid an American TV show called MISTER ED! Ms. Taylor and her husband are in a fine production of WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOLF. Probably the best acting you'll see by either one of them. She's ...

Inviting guest stars?

Nice pictures, Joe.
I found a candid of a young Deanna Durbin on my computer. I'm not sure who the other girl is, though. Does anyone know?

Re: Gone With or Without fanfare
Another person who passed away without much fanfare was former child actor and second unit director Michael D. Moore . Note that they misspelled his nickname "Mickey" and wrote "Micky" instead. From Mary Pickford to Disney's 102 dalmatians, here's what the NY Times had to say in ...
