I forgot to tape Marie Dressler day - wah. My usual story. But I did get several of Babs and made a new friend when a patron blew into work and announced she had to hurry because it was Barbara Stanwyk day on TCM and she had to get back home. Believe me, I accommodated.

Thanks for the encouragement - This morning I woke up to a couple of strange island movies with Delores Del Rio. I'd discuss them but I have absolutely no idea where to start... strange, ideed.

The Fred and Ginger sets are the best. Let's not forget the 'cafe' in Paris in the beginning of the Gay Divorcee with the chorus girls doing their bit with the hand dolls. My favorite is The Silver Sandal. What's the difference between a nightclub and a cafe and which ones serve food, anyway? ...som...

Anne- I agree we do miss a lot of great movies because they belonged to the wrong studio! I'm lucky to have bought a few videos but am sure I am only partially educated in even my favorite genre. I just thought I'd mention that while I enjoy reading all the discussions here, I often don't post becau...

I didn't get a chance to participate in the original discussion so hope you don't mind my voting now. That's quite a lovely list...can you imagine if that's all we ever had to choose from? My choices: 1. Gone with the Windy-headed-women 2. 2001: A Space-between-the-ears 3. Lawrence of A-real-good-ti...

Thanks for such interesting discussion, Scott. Betty - where were you last night? I searched all over and ended up in a less than flattering position at a table with a couple of chumps who could only talk about cricket. I have a terrible headache - umm, from the cigar smoke hanging around. Will some...

Scott, I don't have a questions but also wanted to thank you for being here. I have found the discussion so far very interesting and will look forward to reading your book in the future. My fave Kay film so far is In Name Only, altho' I'm almost embarrassed to say I think Charlie's Aunt is a HOOT. I...

One of my favorites - I love how the pre-code flavor fits right into that last-century setting. There was some serious hanky-panky going on (especially in the Queen's boudoir!) and the names are just too funny. One of my favorite lines by Queen Delores (Una Merkel) "Put Gabrielovitsch and Sienk...

Hello, and thank you for being here. I just read Joan Blondell and found it to be a charming and endearing account of the work and life of one of my favorite actresses. I must confess, I usually do not like biographies (because of the ending) so I read from her Oscar to the end, then from the beginn...

Moira - Thanks so much.
They are all lovely but I think I like #3 the best.
She certainly could wear a hat well, couldn't she?

I enjoyed this very movie very much - although I wondered about my choice since my husband was flying out west during that exact hour and a half...hmmm. It's a good thing everybody made it in the end. She went for the pipsqueak to get revenge...and married. I fully expected her to end up with a baby...
