I Just Watched...
I'm resurrecting my very popular I Just Watched... thread from the old TCM site. Despite being under the "Movies and Features on TCM" section of this forum, I want to make it clear that this thread is intended to be a casual discussion of anything that people have watched recently. The mov...

Re: TCM announces it is sunsetting the TCM Forums
I am recently told that he now refers himself as "God." (as a sort of secondary moniker behind his regular screen name.) And in Bold. LOL! And that is exactly what I thought would happen when he "so graciously" took it upon himself to play savior and create a new message board. ...

Re: Noir Alley on TCM
"Decoy" was pretty crazy. I'd never seen it before. I don't think that I've ever seen a plot that involved reviving someone who was executed. Jean Gillie's character was certainly ruthless. I kind of like the fact that there was no romance subplot shoehorned in. Jean Gillie used every sing...

Re: The Major and The Minor
I love "The Major and the Minor" too. I also agree about the dancing scene where Ginger shows off her "adequate" dancing. I also love later when Frankie Thomas comes back with his Benny Goodman music and dances into the room with the entire inconvenienced staff looking on. He imm...

Re: GARBO!
Garbo is someone who I didn't "get" for a long time. I haven't seen any of her silent films yet, but I finally saw my first Garbo film during the #PreCodeApril event this year. I watched "Mata Hari." I know that that isn't considered one of her best films, but after seeing it, I ...

Re: TCM announces it is sunsetting the TCM Forums
Maybe if we can get all the "good" posters over here and revitalize this community, we can leave all the riff-raff behind. Too late....one of them has already arrived here - ME! No, really...let's hope this poster steps up their game and learns to write cohesive sentences while here. But ...

Re: Bad Movies You Love
Taste, schmaste! I've got BORN TO BE BAD on in the background and it's deliciously awful -- no one in the cast is elevated to anything but overbaked indignation over Joan Fontaine's passive-aggressive machinations. She is "Cristabelle" who is described by cynical writer/lover-boy Robert R...

Re: Murder at the Vanities (Kino Lorber)
Murder at the Vanities is awesome! I watched it for the first time on the Criterion Channel in March when they featured a series on Paramount PreCode. I was so disappointed when I discovered this film was only available on an out of print DVD. Then lo and behold, literally within a couple weeks of w...

2023 TCM Film Festival
https://youtu.be/7NRt1KcDFwI The 2023 TCM FIlm Festival will be April 13-April 16, 2023. I am so excited, my husband and I are planning on attending the TCMFF for the first time ever next year. We've already started saving. I have also already booked a room within the TCM Film Festival block at the ...

I'm excited to see everyone here! I hope that we can reinvigorate the boards with new conversation! Maybe I'll create I Just Watched... 2.0.

Re: TCM announces it is sunsetting the TCM Forums
Thank you, Sue. It's refreshing that this is just a message board and not a social media site with the "Likes" and stats and all that. We can just talk about movies and not focus on the superficial.Sue Sue Applegate wrote: ↑October 22nd, 2022, 4:48 pm Welcome to the newbies! speedracer5, LostHorizons, Liam Casey, and TomJH!

Re: Bad Movies You Love
Guess I must have bad taste since i unapolagetically loved two films mentioned in the original post: Penelope and Breezy. I also love Penelope. I am also a fan of the Elvis movies. And I love Valley of the Dolls. I don't care. I never claimed to have "taste." I look for things that entert...

Re: TCM announces it is sunsetting the TCM Forums
I managed to register, make my profile and post here. I am sad that my beautiful "I Just Watched" thread on the TCM forum will die a sad death next month. 7 years, 33k replies, 1.2mil views, all gone. Maybe if we can get all the "good" posters over here and revitalize this commun...
