Re: Her Sister's Secret (1946-Edgar Ulmer)

Thank you Kingrat. Hope I'm not pushing the issue of Frances Williams too much. I found her to be a delight. I don't mind the sturm und drang and dramatics in "The Great Lie." "Her Sister's Secret" was a quieter take on the subject. Oooh, looks like that was covered in "The ...

Re: Her Sister's Secret (1946-Edgar Ulmer)

Re: WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?

While “State of the Union” appealed to my brain, “Mr. Smith...” appealed to heart You've just summed up the effectiveness of Frank Capra. Especially those I consider the four great ones. SMITH, DEEDS, DOE and that Christmas movie! American classics. I agree with you wholeheartedly Red. I do have to ...

Re: October Schedule 2014

...I wish that they were showing Ulmer's Carnegie Hall (1947), which is kind of a bio of the landmark featuring great music, of course, but also Marsha Hunt, whose (most consistent) leading man in that movie is ...Frank McHugh! (not the usual pick, huh?--but quite an interesting choice, as F.Mc. wa...

A PLACE IN THE SUN is a great movie in all respects. Some people like WILD RIVER more than I do. I was quite young the only time I saw it. It deserves another chance, as do I!
LOL! Cine-Monty? Haaaa....thanx Red. As for deserving another chance...you're a cat with nine lives. 8)

I'd have programmed his birthday differently as well. "Wild River" "A Place in the Sun" for starters.
