Irene Dunne

She seems to have gotten a number of posts already. Do you have a favorite Irene Dunne comedy. Incidentall she was of Irish Catholic background from Louisville,Ky, and a Republican. I guess that she can be forgiven for that !

Moira, I totally agree with your entire post. I have a quote from a book about Ford, it can't find it at the moment, where he ( Ford ) is quoted that " Two Rode Together " was the biggest piece of cr*p that I have done in twenty years. I think that it is a minor classic. Woody Strode gave ...

TV --- So Many Choices

I have about 200 Stations on my Cable System, icluding the Premium Movie Channels, all of which I receive. I have so many choices but most of what is on is not only bad, ( not entertaing or informative ) it is also socially/morally contemptible, that I find myself always turning back to TCM or C - Sp...

A Face in the Crowd

I think " A Face in the Crowd " is ever more relevant now than ever before, with hatemongers such as Limbaugh, Hannity,Coulter, and their ilk dominating much of the news and information, especially on the radio. Fritz Lang's "Fury " has not lost any of its punch, and it's DVD has ...

Irish & The Movies - Moira

Is there anything,in the entire world, that the Irish are not the best at ? By having invented everything there is they should be the best. Adam, Tubal cain, and other great figures in the Bible are all really Celts. So is Jesus ! :P

Brute Force

Is being released on DVD on Tuesday April 17. It is one of my favorite noirs, ranking just behind. "Nightmare Alley " starring Tyrone Power with wonderful support from the great Joan Blondell and the vastly underrated Helen Walker. " Brute Force " has tremendous performances by B...

Your Favorite John Ford Western

My vote goes to " Fort Apache ", with " The Searchers a close second. Ford was a fearless film maker who attacked perhaps the number one ill facing America racism. "Two Rode Together " stands high on my list also for the same reason. Outstandind performances by Wayne in Fort...

Thanks

Thank You all for setting up this new site. I love to discuss classic films, and I will try to avoid politics, but being a conservative (hehe) it might be very difficult to do. Thanks Again !
