Re: ASK ALEXA!

Dear Erik, Thanks So much for your previous compliment, but you would be bored with me after 15 minutes, believe it or not... Ok David I think you asked about which movie Mr. O was talking about with Mariette Hartley that "made his teeth hurt." I have the answer now and the movie was LESS ...

Re: ASK ALEXA!

David and Jack I asked Mr O about the Private Screenings bit with Mariette Hartley and the movie that "made his teeth hurt" and he said he would check the end of the tape of the full review and let us know. Yes I know Diane Baker - one of Robert's oldest friends - we interviewed her for th...

Re: ASK ALEXA!

Dear Moira (and everyone) That interview actually was conducted for TNT if I remember correctly. It may have been done as part of Our Favorite Movies or as part of the MGM archive. TCM inherited the project from Warner Home Video and their special projects such as Meet Me In St. Louis and Dr. Zhivag...

Re: ASK ALEXA!

Jack- Margaret Hamilton loved children and taught kindergarten and nursery school. Even when there was a lull during WWII with her Hollywood career, she went back to teaching and founded the Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church's nursery, and it still exists, with her name as the founder. Guess who one...

Re: ASK ALEXA!

Moira: Yes it was very much like Judy and Mickey when TCM started in terms of excitement. We were determined to beat AMC at its game and we did. We were always based in Atlanta and I would say there were about 20 of us. The producers then were both working on TNT and TCM. We were on in NYC as I reca...

Re: ASK ALEXA!

David

YES! I did interview him all about his dad and mom. Hopefully we will be able to use the interview in some way on TCM. He is a great guy and met his first wife when they were both children on the set of ANNA AND THE KING OF SIAM. (she was Lee J Cobb's daughter.)

Re: ASK ALEXA!

Ok SSO fans- I looked back and Ann Doran was very funny - she loved Michael Curtiz (he gave her a ride home once when her car broke down) and Bill Wellman and of course Frank Capra. She told me that she estimated that she had been in 500 movies and 1,000 tv shows. WOW. Also Mary Astor is definitely ...

Good Afternoon SSO fans: I am finally back and way behind on my work but here goes: MONGO - no word yet on your Universal titles. Virginia Grey fans: Yes, I had the privilege of interviewing her. She was still beautiful with big blue eyes and was surprisingly tall. I was told not to ask about Gable ...
