Can't think of a better way to spend Halloween. Think I'll try it next year.
Best of all, you don't hate yourself in the morning!

Re: Author Preston Neal Jones Q & A November 1 & 2
Thanks for the informative response, Preston. Guess I'll have to add the Lauren Chapin book to my reading list, too. I'd better hurry up and get those new reading galsses. I envy you the return to New England and hope it will be in time for the Fall foliage. It's the one thing I really miss. I chose...

Re: Author Preston Neal Jones Q & A November 1 & 2
Good morning, Preston, Greatly enjoying your comments and glad you’ll be able to give us another day of your time. I’ll definitely be reading Return to Tomorrow , but not before Heaven and Hell to Play With . (What a great title!) The inside stories of Laughton, Mitchum and Winters were really fasci...

Don't know about the Barney (maybe he misspelled Blarney?), but Boris is up next in one of his especially well-crafted roles, The Mummy. (Or did he misspell The Mommy?)

Let me add my welcome. I'm especially pleased to see that you've also become a member of our little group, and I look forward to your comments on the various threads, as your busy schedule allows. I greatly enjoyed your two answers to Moira's questions. Night of the Hunter has always been a special ...

I remember, we all cheered when she got the fork!
Then she showed up again in Adam's Rib, and she wasn't a meanie after all.

Re: CANDIDS II
Happy Birthday, Mrs. Frankenstein. A very suitable time to celebrate it, too.
There weren't many such beautiful actresses who would ugly-up in those days as she so obviously did, as evidenced by these two candids vs. #3 in the banner.

Re: What Horror and Sc-Fi films have you seen lately?
Totally agree. Although it's a TV play, Twelve Angry Men is another great example of not opening up. Quick as he can, Sidney Lumet pushes you into that Jury Room and he keeps you there right to the very end, then that closing shot, as they're leaving the New York Courthouse, makes you feel as if you...

Re: What Horror and Sc-Fi films have you seen lately?
Sometimes I think it is better that some of these horror films didn't adhere too closely to the books As often as not, this is true of all genres. We're dealing with vastly different mediums. While unavoidably disappointing fans of the book, it's better to let the movie find its own direction. So t...

Considering how little regard they had for what they had created, I guess we're lucky at least the film preservationists are reclaiming what they can.

Re: HOT OFF PRESS!
Apropos of nothing. From today’s paper (complete):
“A pet parrot that spoke with a British accent when it disappeared from its home in Torrence four years ago has been reunited with its owner – and the bird now speaks Spanish.”

The Master indeed. Thanks, Eric, for posting the poster. It's a beauty, and it includes my personal favorite of his work: the fighting skeletons in the lower left.
