Re: Another question to my British buddies

Anne Martin Shaw has been in several tv shows, he even played Elvis on stage. I first saw him in the 70s in a supporting role as the unfaithful husband in Helen A Woman Of Today. Around that time he and Lewis Collins played villains in an episode of The New Avengers, which was significant as both ac...

Re: Happy Valley, a new UK cop show with a difference

Sorry to keep harping on about this show, The Happy Valley, but in concluded in the UK yesterday and it didn't disappoint. I think Sarah Lancashire who already has won best supporting actress Bafta in a tv drama for Last Tango In Halifax deserves to probably win best actress next year. If the show e...

Kate Beckinsale's dad Richard

I've been watching a couple of interviews where it's been said had Richard Beckinsale not died of a heart attack at age 31 he'd have gone on to become a huge international star. On tv he did both the tv and film versions of The Lovers with Paula Wilcox and the acclaimed prison sit-com Porridge with ...

Re: CALL THE MIDWIFE

Hi Anne

There will be another season, but as far as I'm aware there will be new stories, as the Jennifer North who's memiors was based on the show died in 2011 and her stories have ran out so. So new original stories have been written.

Prey, The Fugitive

Spoiler

It seems strange writing about a new UK series called Prey, but some in America might like its resemblance to both the tv and film version of The Fugitive. It stars John Sim (Doctor Who, Life On Mars and The Village) as a cop on the run after being set up for the killing of his wife

Re: Happy Valley, a new UK cop show with a difference

Spoiler I hope America gets to see this series at some point. Sarah Lancashire deserves to be a global superstar with her performance in this drama. I does remind me,though it's completely different, of Jamie Lee Curtis in Blue Steel in the sense it seems to be building up to a confrontation between...

Re: Roger Moore forgotten tv star

Miora

I'm referring to his televison work. As a tv actor I think his contubution to the small screen in the UK is up there with the great John Thaw, but I don't think he gets the credit he deserves, mainly because his last show The Persauders was made 43 years ago

Roger Moore forgotten tv star

After writing about Julie Walters getting a Bafta Fellowship for film and tv work, I wanted to say I wish Roger Moore would get the same honor. His films include The Sins Of Rachel Cade, Vendetta For The Saint, The Fiction Makers, The Man Who Haunted Himself, the Bond films, Gold, The Sea Wolves and...
