I was watching the Merry Widow the other night and was surprised to recognize one of the scenes. I collect cigarette cards from the 30's and the Gallaher card for Widow is the scene where Chevalier pinches Jeanette MacDonald's cheek. So anyway, I went through my cards and found a number of them that represent recent or upcoming TCM movies.
Enjoy!

Those are really cool, Tracey---thanks so much for posting them and for taking the trouble to caption them with the movie titles.
I guess it's only through magazines and advertising media like this that
fans got to see what their favorites looked like in color in the 1930s!

Yeah, those are really cool.
I collect old baseball cards off and on, but at some point I wouldn't mind collecting some old 1930's movie cards and magazines, especially because they are much more affordable.
And I am even more fascinated by Myrna Loy and Katharine Hepburn, than Joe Jackson and Ty Cobb.
