Thank You, Jonathan Rosenbaum

Post by ChiO »

For those who enjoy reading serious film criticism, February 27 will be a sad day, especially here in Chicago. Jonathan Rosenbaum turns 65 and is retiring from the Chicago Reader. I hope that this means he'll have time to moderate more screenings and write more articles and books.

He and Andrew Sarris are the writers I turn to most often to learn, re-learn, think and re-think about film. JR's retirement is going to leave a void.

Here is an interview with JR. Put on something to protect you from the acid before reading. http://www.timeout.com/chicago/articles ... tical-care

Facets Multimedia is having a reception on May 4 to honor Jonathan Rosenbaum and to mourn his retirement as the fulltime film critic at the Chicago Reader. Facets' homepage, http://www.facets.org, has links to J.R. interviews, reviews, lists, etc.
