Just got a copy of this book. Wow. It's HUGE! Lots of gorgeous pictures and information on the evolution of those faces, especially Joan Crawford's. I still don't undertsnad the gigantic caterpillar eyebrows she affected in her later years.

It is enormous, I bought a copy of it used on Half.com years ago and it was shocked at it's size. It's like three times the size of the sequel MORE FABULOUS FACES and that book had five stars instead of four.

The author's clear favorite (mine too) is Gloria Swanson, there are more pages on her than the other three which is great because she was actually written about the least of the foursome.

There was a "sequel?" Who's in it? Is it as thorough and interesting as the first book?

According to amazon the sequel has Katharine Hepburn, Carole Lombard, Delores Del Rio, Bette Davis, and Myrna Loy.

I've never heard of either book, but they look pretty cool.

I've heard the book mentioned in Jeanine Basinger's book Silent Stars. I've ordered the first one

Well the first one was cancelled so I've had to reorder but I have got an immaculate copy of the second one, if the first one is as good as this one I'll be a happy bunny. Highly recommended :D
