My favorite is Mary Tyler Moore as "Laura Petrie" on The Dick Van Dyke Show.

Considering her age, and the role she was playing, I would say Barbara Stanwyck in The Big Valley, no matter what was happening, except when she was kidnapped or something worse, she always looked elegant, even in riding outfits.
And for Just a Visit back to the 50's it would have to be the twirling door lady - Loretta Young, absolutely perfect in every detail.

Jane Wyatt in Father Knows Best. She always seemed much too beautiful and elegant to be hanging over a kitchen sink shelling peas all day.

Y'know, 10 years later, Janie still looked pretty decent as Spock's mom on "Star Trek"!jdb1 wrote:Jane Wyatt in Father Knows Best. She always seemed much too beautiful and elegant to be hanging over a kitchen sink shelling peas all day.
These days, I get a little sideways for Christine Hendricks on AMC's "Mad Men".

Marlo Thomas of That's Girl
Nice Color Picture of Marlo Thomas
In the mid-60's to early 70's - I find the attractiveness of Marlo Thomas to be full, dark, lovely facial features, rich & vibrant hair, sparkling personality, killer smile, and her deep dark brown eyes pierced my imagination. When I was a young boy and teenager - I find dark alluring brunettes like Marlo Thomas, Mary Tyler Moore, and others leading ladies on Television to be very much as Eye Candy to my beloved Rita
Marlo Thomas - TV Series That's Girl is one of those TV Shows that both sexes can watch the crazy love antics of Ann Marie and Donald Hollinger - played by Ted Bessell - picture of them below - with great joy and laughter.

I'd have to go with Donna Reed in "The Donna Reed Show".

Hi CharlieT! Love the avatar, is that you? I have a good friend who takes her granddaughter, and the two of them are registered (?) clowns, they go to Children's Mercy Hospital here.

On looks alone it is hard to beat Mary Tyler Moore in "The Dick Van Dyke" show. It helps that she was funny and could sing.

No, that's not me. It is a picture of a local TV personality from my youth who had a show on every afternoon and Saturday mornings coming out of Columbus, OH. His name was Flippo the Clown. Every kid from my generation loved watching his antics and the old movies and cartoons he showed. I got to see him at our local movie palace when I was about 6 (front row, center) and never forgot his magic show. I saw him later when I was about 20 at our local home show with my brother-in-law and my nephew who was only about 2 at the time. He also loved Flippo, getting to catch him in his last year or two of his program. I missed getting to see him at the local Moose's father/son banquet back in the late 80's because my father had passed away and I only had a daughter - not that I'm complaining about that. You can google Flippo the Clown and it will take you to a site that covers his career and some of his wacky antics.Hi CharlieT! Love the avatar, is that you? On a side note, I always thought I resembled him when he wasn't wearing makeup. I don't think I've got the personality to be a clown... regardless of what my family might think.

Sela Ward !!
Pick the series ("L.A. Law", "Sisters", "Once & Again", "House", "CSI: New York"); in every recurring role she's had on the small screen, she's shimmered like a sunkist lilly.
Now there's a woman worth risking fisticuffs over at a Sunday Social.

The women (and a girl) who melted my heart:
Annette Funicello -- M-I-C...I wished I could see her real soon.
Marjorie Lord -- The Danny Thomas Show
Teri Garr -- The Sonny and Cher Show
Geena Davis -- Buffalo Bill
Meredith Baxter -- Bridget Loves Bernie and Family Ties
