This is just a heads up to those who love old newspapers and accounts of the studio era (all of which need to be taken with a good chuckle and that proverbial grain of salt).

Our friend and dual member on this and the TCM board, Filmlover (Peter) has begun a thread on the TCM Message Board entitled 1939: HOLLYWOOD'S GREATEST YEAR - DAY BY DAY - as it happens!!! .

Peter is posting actual clippings from that year with numerous ads, magazine covers, columns from the likes of Sheilah Graham, Hedda Hopper, and Louella Parsons (as well as legitimate reporters), all of which is highly addictive reading. It will make you long for the wayback machine and deepen one's appreciation for that Dream Factory publicity machine. Don't miss and enjoy.
