Steve Forrest The Baron on you tube

Post by stuart.uk »

I was interested to discover Steve Forrest has 2 episodes of his 60s UK series The Baron on you tube, one of which For A Rainy Day you can watch right through without a break. As well as starring resident assisant Sue Llyod, Bond girl Misss. Moneypenny, ala Lois Maxwell guest stars. Lois has a really sex scene at the begining with Forrest's John Mannering, doing something Miss. Moneypenny never got the chance to do, though it's still pretty innocent

John Mannering is an expert antique dealer, who also does jobs for the British secret service. It's very Saint like in style, which shouldn't be surprising as producer Monty Bermen as a co-producer of the Saint along with Roy Baker, but Roger Moore didn't really get on with him and would only renew his contract if Berman was no longer part of the show. So he left and made The Baron, which only lasted one season, because it wasn't a success in the American market
