How great is Rory Mcllroy in all time terms

Postby stuart.uk » July 21st, 2014, 7:09 am

Rory Mcllroy has one The British Open Golf Championship, giving him his 3rd major at 25, only Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods can match that acheivement. In fact Rory's dad when his son was 16 along with 2 mates bet £100s he'd win the Open by the time he was 25, which meant £50-000s to each of them.

I'm already thinking in terms he maybe the best golfer to have come out of Europe, even though Nick Faldo's has won 6 majors and Seve 5. However, Nick and Seve's majors consisted of The British Open and the U.S Masters, leaving out The U.S Open and The P.G.A. Rory's only not yet won The Masters. Now I'm thinking if he does win The Masters, Rory possibly should be mentioned in the same breath of Nicklaus, Woods, Gary Player, Walter Hagen and Gene Sarazen the only players to have won a Grand Slam in Major titles
