HOUSE OF NOIR
Re: HOUSE OF NOIR
As the decompression phase of my film noir extravaganza in San
Francisco sets in, it is time to relax at the House of Noir with a
double dose of early 50s TV NOIR...

More Dangerous Ground
The trailer is great ... thought I'd also add the opening title sequence (which I don't think has already
been posted ... apologies if it has!) ... love that Bernard Herrmann!

Re: HOUSE OF NOIR
Mook: A total triumph on every level: my favorite Nicholas Ray film, my absolute favorite Bernard Hermann score, George Diskant's shimmering cinematography, the brilliant screenplay by A. I. Bezzerides and Nick Ray, and (dare I say it) my favorite performance from one of the Twentieth Century's premiere actors, Robert Ryan. Thanks for posting those opening credits: my heart races whenever I hear those opening chords over the RKO logo!!
Re: HOUSE OF NOIR
I also wanted to post: "WHY DO YOU PUNKS MAKE ME DO IT? WHY????" ... but ChiO beat me to it!

Boy that Morro's Lodge is one swingin' joint!
Hey, Moe, I caught Lenore's act, and yowza, she is one spicy tomatah! She says to tell ya she ain't forgotten that bail dough she owes ya from that pinch in Vegas (? ? ), she'll send it to ya when she can.
Man the things that go on down there! Good thing I was tendin' bar out on that yacht most the time, or I'd be comin' back up here with some really choice regrets !

Glad you saw Lenore. That bail dough would come in pretty handy right now, the tie business just ain't keepin me in smokes.

Lefty here - ALL YOU HUNYAWKS LISTEN UP.
Just today, things got a lot tighter for our best gal Moe; so's I want all of youz to buy a drink for her, and a tie or 2 from her, capish?
Boss-man Dewey sprang for a big pot of Mexicali chili from the boys over at the shack on 101; it's on the house, a cup at a time, but you mugs gotta keep everything else oiled from yer wallets tonight, savvy?
Now I want everybody pleasant & generous & on their best behavior . . cause we don't want one of those visits from Moe's Uncle Spence, now do we?
Like as in when she got fired from that cafe out in Nevada, 'member? . . . . . .

Re: HOUSE OF NOIR
Here is the opening sequence of “Ain’t We Got Fun”, the 5th episode
of the 1st season of THE UNTOUCHABLES. It is my favorite episode
from that wonderful series. Let’s see if we can determine why…

The sound is out of sync -- is it the same for everybody? I like it -- it adds that extra, Carey-esque dimension to the proceedings.

Hi there...still learning the lay of the land here at the Oasis. Now, if you cut & paste on the above you will see the best video on YouTube. It is a Valentine to Noir. Someone pointed it out to me...and I wanted to pass this along to those of you who travel in the noir.
Enjoy!!!
P.S. As I pore back over the pages, I do see that Klondike also pointed out this video (4/19 @11:10pm)
Well...a good video is worth repeating?
