The Strange Love of Martha Ivers

Post by ken123 »

Is a very atmospheric noir noir starring Barbara Stanwyck, Van Heflin, Kirk Douglas, and Lizebeth Scott, with great support from Judith Andreson & Roman Bohnan. Ms Scott was usually ripped by the critics, but I wonder was she really that bad ? I thought that she was at least ok in her performances. :D

I watched this a few days ago. Somehow I expected more, knowing it was a Barbara Stanwyck film but it just didn't get me like Double Indemnity or Sorry Wrong Number. I didn't see anything wrong with Lizabeth Scott's performance apart from the fact she was a bit too much like Lauren Bacall.
