Fallen Angel is a good film. I like the casting of Alice Faye as the "good girl". This would be her last film for 20th Century Fox, and she didn't make another film until 17 years later; the remake of State Fair in 1962 (and isn't it odd that the 1945 State Fair cast Dana Andrews).
The supporting actors are solid; Charles Bickford, Anne Revere, John Carradine, Percy Kilbride, and Bruce Cabot.
Of course there is Dana Andrews and Linda Darnell who have good chemistry even when they are trading punches.

Fallen Angel is a very good choice. And I agree with James about the chemistry between Dana Andrews and Linda Darnell.
