Some Like it Hot

Post by ken123 »

I was a kid when I first saw it, even though it was likely on the Church's condemned list, because of the CD'ing. As a kid I thought that it was funny, as I grow older I find somewhat dull.

I like "Some Like It Hot," but I think it has been in danger of being overhyped in the last few years.

My one happy memory of San Diego is of walking around that hotel on Coronado Island and recognizing the part of the building that Curtis' character kept climbing up and down.

Nope, not overhyped, not dull--still funny as all get out. How can you not love a movie that contains that final scene?

Jerry: Oh, you don't understand, Osgood! Ehhhh... I'm a man.
Osgood: Well, nobody's perfect.

Or this one?

Jerry: Have I got things to tell you!
Joe: What happened?
Jerry: I'm engaged.
Joe: Congratulations. Who's the lucky girl?
Jerry: I am!

Joe: But, you're *not* a girl! You're a *guy*, and, why would a guy wanna marry a guy?
Jerry: Security!

Joe: There's another problem.
Jerry: Like what?
Joe: Like, what are you gonna do on your honeymoon?
Jerry: We've been discussing that. He wants to go to the Riviera but I kinda lean towards Niagara Falls.
