Don't Go Breaking My Heart is one of the most underrated British comedy ever made. However, this is the only link I can find of the film

Maybe this is the same story offered on the Hallmark Channel? It has the same title, just not British-

Why not "Don't break my heart?" Why use "go"? Break is already a verb.

The syntax of that sentence always reminds me of the clunky two verb phrase heard in old movies, "Let's not talk about that now" instead of the more direct "Don't talk about that"

I'm sure they are evoking the song of the same name. :)

There's some confusion here. That poster is from the British film (1999)

The Hallmark TV movie from 2021:

They have different plots, per the descriptions, but I haven't seen either one.

Of course, there's the 1970s song by the same title too...

I had already stated that, was surmising possibly the Hallmark one is a US remake.
