And let's not forget Bogie's inscription: "To Sid - May you never die until I kill you!"
And in that photo Sid Grauman looks like a blend of Harpo Marx and Rex Harrison.

JOHN KERR
Sorry to hear of the death of John Kerr. He was a favorite of mine. From his film debut in The Cobweb with Richard Widmark,
Lauren Bacall, Charles Boyer, Gloria Grahame, Lillian Gish. He had done Tea and Sympathy on stage with Deborah Kerr and
they both did the film(which was surprising). He received a Tony Award for his performance. Even though the critics didn"t
seem to like South Pacific, I did, especially Mr Kerr and Juanita Hall. I understand she did her singing for the stage play, but
the "powers" had her singing voice dubbed for the film...Tell me why?? He received a Best Newcomer Golden Globe. With
lots more TV and some movies, especially Girl in the Night with Anne Francis, he played against type in this film, playing a
pimp. Then he went back to school and became a lawyer. Good for him.
May he rest in peace and he will be remembered

Re: *CANDIDS*
I got a picture of that when we went to Grauman's ChineseI just loved the inscription, that and Marilyn's feet and hands but Chris didn't like Grauman's at all so to my regret I didn't get pictures of any other squares, I wish I'd have had a digital camera then, I could have snapped and snapped and had them for perpertuaity.Western Guy wrote:And let's not forget Bogie's inscription: "To Sid - May you never die until I kill you!"

Carrie Liz sent this to me, and it is a keeper for sure! It was taken on the set of "Road to Rio". Love the dress, the fur, the shoes...and the argyle sweater she's knitting! Thanks CL!!!!
