I love the pic of Dean Jagger! He has such a twinkle in his eye. I've never seen a pic of him in his younger days.

I don't think I've ever seen Dean Jagger with a full head of hair.

Would have been hard-pressed to recognize him.

Who would you rather be, Alain Delon, gorgeous in his prime, or Norman Lloyd, spry to the age of 99?

Alain Delon as ZORRO

He was fabulous in this 1975 Movie - and its one of my favorite ZORRO movies made and it's on DVD. Many of my friends who watch movies like I do - could not believe a word I say about Alain Delon portraying ZORRO until I pop in the DVD that I have and begin playing it. They were stunned and found it to be quite good movie at the time it was shown.

Love the picture of Garbo. Such a shame she chose to retire when she did.

Hi,

My goodness, a day of pulchritudinus birthdays - each and every one a beauty.....

Did Marie and Edna May ever make a film together? That would be a treasure...

Useless trivia:
Hedy owned one of the first barbeques in Acapulco; and in 1951, she cooked hamburgers for about 15 people and moi!!!
Neither of us liked lettuce on our burgers - if you ever hear this fact on "Jeopardy", you heard it here first.....

Happy Birthday to all you lovely people!!

Larry, I don't believe that Marie Dresssler and Edna May Oliver appeared in a film together, which was too bad.
Funny, I didn't like lettuce on my burgers until recently...old age.

Joe - how do we thank you enough for all your time spent letting us have another look at the memories.
It is amazing and I thoroughly enjoy every minute and each and every picture.
Again, thank you so much.

What a beauty was Dorothy Dandridge.

Aged only 47 she tragically overdosed and died broke and alone .

In her day she was the first African-American actress to be Oscar-nominated for "Best Actress in a Leading Role."

She was the first black woman to grace the cover of Life Magazine.

She was first choice for the role of Cleopatra but ultimately the role went to Elizabeth Taylor.

She was the first African-American to be nominated for a "Best Actress" Oscar.

In her bio-pic “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge” (1999 TV) she was portrayed by Halle Berry who later became the first African-American to win "Best Actress" at the Academy Awards.
