Spence has that locked jaw look on his face, as if to say "I'll give you 3 to remove your hand"....

Ugh. Think John Ireland had one of the ugliest faces on the screen, and this photo may be the worst depiction of him I've ever seen. I hope that one was a reject from some photo shoot. If not, he should have sued.

Love the pictures of Fred Astaire, Mongo.

Just recently caught Pleshette headlining as a guest star on a first season episode of "Route 66"; very vulpine, very sultry.
A lot of the same physical appeal, in that era, as Natalie Wood, but darker, more challenging, almost Hispanic looking!

Just watched Thoroughly Modern Millie last week, it's one of my favorites, and Carol Channing was so much fun to watch. "RASPBERRIES!!!!!"
Judith, your new avatar is fab, who is it?

And with that smoky voice of her's! Somehow that little touch of rasp alluded to inner wisdom (in my mind, anyway)...

I was complaining about Jay C. Flippen's face and rugged characters never matching his name - using that excuse for hardly ever remembering one for the other!

But Percy Helton is just about the opposite - an almost perfect name for his often hellion-esque characters, often little demons of delight. Thanks for posting this pix!

Judith - great avatar! It's just perfect.

I find it really weird that John Agar, Joanna Dru and Olive Carey have the same birthday- they are all Ford players. And with John Ireland yesterday, it makes it even weirder...

Thanks everyone, for complimenting my avatar, but all I did was choose it and post it. All the credit goes to the exquisite Louise Brooks. She looks quite different with beestung lips, and without her iconic haircut, but look at the eyes and the nose - that's our LuLu. She'd look good in anything.

When I grow up, that's what I want to look like!
