Don't feel sorry for Allen Jenkins!!!
He and his wife were immensely popular at parties and around town in general. They were very good friends with Jack & Ann Warner and Hal Wallis & Louise Fazenda... In fact he was under contract to Warner Bros. most of his career - that's probably where he and Joan Crawford got together for their dance contest.
He's one person I never heard a bad word about; everybody liked him. We should all have as many friends as he did!!
So, he certainly wasn't 'chopped liver'...
