Round 5 - THE FINAL - #5 Powell & #3 Hawks

Post by ChiO »

This is it...for all the marbles...and the SSO Favorite Director crown.

The poll closes at the time indicated above. It's a bit shorter time, so stay on your toes (subliminal reference to The Red Shoes? Okay, in fairness, no more Monkey Business.)

Wow - well, I didn't envision Michael Powell offing Hitchcock.

The final vote was much simpler than I thought it'd be.

I wanted to get this in before we archive it after this upcoming Saturday; in which we will declare the WINNER of this poll that be conducted in the past 6 weeks with us providing names for ChiO to use from. I wanted to thank you ChiO for all the hard work in putting this altogether. Its been quite entertaining and I would never thought to see Hitchcock not making it to the Final.

You have done a terrific job working and fixing broken polls so that we can make the right decision on who goes to Round 2, Round 3, Round 4, and ultimately Round 5 with Powell and Hawks here.

I'm here but we're still behind. This decision is easier than the last round for me.

No doubt Dewey. No doubt. And... "Hatari!" "Rio Bravo" "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" "The Thing from Another World" "Red River" "The Big Sleep" " To Have and Have Not" "Ball of Fire" "Sergeant York" "His Girl Friday" "Only Angels Have Wings" "Bringing Up Baby" "Twentieth Century" "Scarface."

Comedy, drama, western, screwball comedy...sci-fi.I think he had a handle on it all. I'm rooting for Howie.

With the score tied 7 all, late in the game, we send in our ace relievers,
Kate and Cary. Manager Hawks sure does know how to put together
a winning team!!

I think we should declare it a draw, that way we're all happy.
