The happiest of birthdays to two great gentlemen: Mr. Van Dyke (as sweet in person as you would expect him to be) and my fellow Canadian Mr. Plummer (another gem with whom I had the pleasure of acting in a simply terrible horror movie made here in Winnipeg called CLOWN AT MIDNIGHT, filmed at what is now the Burton Cummings Theatre). Gratifying to know that Christopher survived that experience to go on to win a much-deserved (and overdue, IMO) Academy Award. A wonderful and talented guy!

Thank YOU, as always, Joe. But the movie really is a stinker. BTW: Margot Kidder also appeared in it.

You know, a lot of people have complained about Dick Van Dyke's performance in MARY POPPINS (particularly his cockney accent). Well, I for one feel that his performance makes the film - fun and energetic, and he darn well should have at least been accorded an Oscar nomination for his role.
