Evelyn Daw

Evelyn Daw
16-11-1912 to 29-11-1970
There seems to be nothing much known about Evelyn Daw. She appeared in only two movies, and in both she was the female lead. They were Something To Sing About (1937), which James Cagney listed as his second favourite movie, and Panamint`s Bad Man (1938). I have both these movies. A beautiful voice, and an attractive woman with a lovely smile.

All I can find out about her is that she was a soprano, appearing on stage and in opera. After appearing in these two movies, she returned to stage and opera.

There seems to be no mention of marriage, children, private life, no birthday on Candid, where she appeared etc.

I wonder what happened to her?

I found a bit of info on her. According to one site (findagrave.com) her real name was Evelyn Pearl Shuck Smith. She married Steward H. Smith, retired from acting, and lived in San Diego for many years. No mention of children. This was the only site that mentioned much of anything about her personal life.
