Oh how amusingly "hip" and "clever"!

But I am calm, I am cool, I am breathing slowly in and out, lol.

Is Jewel Robbery on right now on TCM on anyone else's TV in the East instead of Forty Guns? Ben was with Spielberg introducing Forty Guns then the screen went black for a few minutes then Jewel Robbery showed up. Anyone else experiencing the same ?

Oh no! More technical problems? Shocking, lol. I'm not watching TCM right now, Kay, but would not be surprised.

But more of your namesake is never a bad thing!

LOL, very true Bronxie. I just watched Jewel Robbery for the millionth time a few weeks ago and was in the mood for Forty Guns. I'm so curious to know if anyone else is seeing Jewel Robbery instead.

Thank you, Bronxie, I appreciate you checking. I was looking forward to hearing Spielberg's thoughts and memories of Forty Guns. Oh well, what's up with TCM lately?

We'll be expecting THE ROMAN SPRING OF MRS. STONE and be greeted by BEACH PARTY.

Hey, Turner! "You stoopid!" (to quote Eric Von Zipper)

To be honest, THE ROMAN SPRING OF MRS. STONE is one of the most depressing movies you'll ever see, and Warren Beatty's attempt at an Italian accent is atrocious. (much worse than George Hamilton's from LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA). On the plus side, Vivien Leigh's chic Eternal City apartment is to die for.

Bronxgirl, did you ever see the version of THE ROMAN SPRING OF MRS. STONE with Helen Mirren in the title role?

Oliver Martinez's accent was much better.

I did, Holden! Much racier of course. And I agree about Oliver.

But there is nobody to equal Lotte Lenya as the predatory Countess/pimp. Man, that is a performance!

I agree with you about Lotte Lenya in that role in THE ROMAN SPRING OF MRS. STONE.

In the version with Helen Mirren and Oliver Martinez, that role was played by Anne Bancroft.
