"Elmer Gantry" Question

Post by ChiO »

I watched it today -- it had been years and before I developed my obsession with John Alton's cinematography (which was great, by the way).

Early scene: Elmer is in an African-American congregration singing. Several shots of the church-goers.

Was that Muddy Waters?

He's not listed at IMDb, but it's a "crowd" scene. Mocha-skin, high cheekbones -- if it's not Muddy, it's his twin.
