Is it Cary Grant?

Hey!! That sort of limits things for me, doesn't it?

Well, how about this:

Who is the only woman to have mentored both Jim Backus and William Windom? Actually, I can't say for sure that she was the only woman to have done that for these gentlemen. But I think we can safely say that she was the first woman to have served in that role formally for both of them.

This actually falls into one of my favorite trivia categories, In Common. A better way to phrase this question would be

"What do Jim Backus and William Windom have in common?" In light of the above, you have a clue.

Here's a hint -

This lady was in many films in a supporting role, but is usually remembered in terms of a particular role in an iconic classic. The mentoring she did, however, had little to do with the movies - it happened when she was young and the two men mentioned were even younger. She probably wasn't as scary at that time as we posters remember her.

Sorry to limit you, jdb1.

How about Margaret Hamilton?
(A guess from left field.)

Into left field, but a home run. Margaret Hamilton is it.

Hamilton worked as a kindergarten teacher and, at separate times, had William Windom and Jim Backus in her class.

Why don't you try a whole question on your own now?

Sorry -- another senior moment. Once again, I posted on the wrong thread.

Who is the only character to be brought back to life in a noir?
