No, guess again. A clue there was a spin off TV series made from this movie.

You must make your own life amongst the living and, whether you meet fair winds or foul, find your own way to harbor in the end.

Rex Harrison to Gene Tierney in The Ghost and Mrs. Muir.

Who asked this cheeky question (which is NOT about "cars" at all) :D :

"Why do you want an old car when you can have a new one? It will run faster and last longer."

I love these games but I'm so bad at them. I'm sure I'd only get an answer right if the quote was 'Frankly my dear I don't give a damn'

(Editing my reply because my computer choked and I responded to a quote from 2 pages ago. I'll try again later. Keep this game up, I love it, even though I've already screwed it up. Sorry.)

"Why do you want an old car when you can have a new one? It will run faster and last longer."

I'm stuck on this one, I keep hearing Fred Astaire in my head and that's NOT it!
Help

No, it's not Fred. Hint: Cary Grant. No, he didn't say it, but someone says it to him.

Could it have been Katherine Hepburn to Cary in Bringing Up Baby?

No, Charlie, that's not it. I guess this one is TOO hard! :o Should I just reveal the answer and let someone else have a turn?

Ha! I guess I should---

"Why do you want an old car when you can have a new one? It will run faster and last longer."

Danielle (Brigitte Auber) talking to John Robie (Cary Grant) about the difference between herself and Francie (Grace Kelly) in To Catch a Thief. Anyone can take it from here and I'll retire, ha.

That's one of the possibilities I had thought, but I also had in mind "Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer", but when you said another "director" (meaning not Hawks) I guessed it had to be someone like Hitchcok, but I wasn't sure and didn't post again. Good line anyway!
