Sounds like Bernard Hermann, but can't think of the title.
I've been researching, but can't come up with it.
I watched a couple of those Bernard Hermann biography snippits
on youtube. Fascinating and amazing film orchestrator and composer.
Thank you for making me take a much more serious look at his work.

O.K. Are we going to have a Mystery 5 tune?

I really enjoy this thread. I may not be that great at it, but I can always improve!

Henry Mancini, The Thornbirds!
This is one of my favorites, and I play it on the piano a great deal.
I have enjoyed so many Mancini tunes in my life. At one point, I wanted to score films, but just didn't have the perserverance.
Thanks, Johnm.

What a sweetheart! Thanks. Growing up, I learned to play the "fake" books (melody and chords) and we would play name that tune at least twice a week.

I had three huge books I chose from, and my mom and dad would take turns guessing.

I'll try the next one.

If I knew how to record a tune from my piano and add to the putfile, I'd send you one.

Couldn't access the new tune. The putfile screen pops up, but just a blank square. No play button, nothing...sorry.

Hi john:

I've been 'lurking' because as much as I love music, I'm not really good at guessing the names. I'm with you on No. 6 though, it's just beautiful, sounds like a love story film, maybe something like Ryan's Daughter. That's not a guess, just a wondering sort of comment.
