I wished Herbert Lom had had a more substantial role. He was a comforting presence though, for a change.

Richard Todd was fantastic. He was what his colleagues liked to call "a jobbing actor." He was one of those talented stars who felt it was an actor's job to act and you kept on doing it as long as you were physically able. I first saw him when I was a little kid in Disney's Robin Hood movie and I last saw him in an episode of Midsomer Murders. He was quite elderly then, but he still looked very distinguished. And when he was making films like Asylum for my friends at Amicus in 1972, 30 years after Robin Hood , he still looked every bit the English country gentleman.
